10 Best DIY Decorating Blogs - Part Deux

On last week's Top 10 Friday post, I promised the second half of the 10 Best DIY Decorating Blogs post.  The suspense can end (finally, I know).  Here are the remaining seven DIY decorating blogs that are tops in our book.  I'm certain you'll find something to like.

Oh, and HAPPY FRIDAY!

Thrifty Decor Chick
Sarah is the "Thrifty Décor Chick".   She's a thrift-store-loving, creative DIYer.   And I'll have to admit, when I saw the word "thrifty", combined with the word "décor", I was very intrigued— in fact, when I see the word "thrifty" period, my heart skips a beat.    She is the ultimate DIYer— turning thrift store and antique shop finds into treasures.   Oh, I wish I had that talent.   It's very inspiring.   There's a lot of good stuff here, but I think my favorite is the "Spray Painting" category.   Amazing the things you can do with spray paint!  You've got to see this:   http://thriftydecorchick.blogspot.com/2011/07/candlestick-turned-table.html.   Impressive, isn't she?

The Lettered Cottage
A friend told me about this blog, so I checked it out.  I'm glad I did.  You should too.  It's written by Kevin and Layla Palmer, a super-cute couple from Prattville, Alabama.   They're all about room makeovers, DIY how-to's, seasonal/holiday decorating and other crafty stuff.  They even publish an e-zine (The Lettered Cottage e-zine)— as if they're not busy enough writing for this blog.   I love "Pick My Presto!".  Basically, you send in a photo of a room in your home (or the exterior) that's in desperate need of design intervention.   If it's selected, Layla creates an "inspiration" drawing of what the room could look like.  When you roll your mouse over the picture, presto chang-o (their word, not mine), it changes back and forth from the actual room to the inspiration.   Very cool.   I wanna do it!

The Tip Junkie
I have several Facebook friends who follow The Tip Junkie, and now I see why.   If holiday crafts, party ideas, organization, DIY decorating and other crafty stuff are your thing, this is your place.   I'm not a super crafty girl when it comes to homemade stuff, but she makes it looks fun (and easy).   Like the 14 Easy Homemade Sugar Scrub Recipes post.   I love sugar scrubs.   And now I know what I'll be doing this weekend.   She's also got what all of you DIY decorators are looking for— lots of tutorials and some fun, fun projects.  Check out the Make a Pillow Out of a Sweater post.   If I were a little more talented, I would TOTALLY do this! Love it!

Living With Lindsay
I just ran onto this blog recently and love, love, love it (I know, I say that a lot).   It's written by a super-talented girl named Lindsay (hence the name of the blog) who says she's "a DIYer and home décor crafter with a zeal for budget decorating as big as Texas".   And I've mentioned about 20 times by now that I'm all about some budget decorating.    It looks like she's got a lot of strong suits when it comes to decorating, but I would venture to say that if you need to know anything at all about painting your home or staining, this is the place— like  "How to Paint Perfect Stripes on Textured Walls",  "How to Spray Paint Drawer Pulls and Cabinet Knobs" and "How to Paint Laminate Furniture".   So, check out the tutorials, I think you'll learn something!

Addicted 2 Decorating
This blog, written by an interior designer (and self-described DIY fanatic) named Kristi is pretty fabulous.   I mentioned before that I'm a fan of before-and-after photos, and she does a fantastic job with them.   Turning old, ugly dressers into cool TV stands, turning bookshelves into pantries, refinishing kitchen cabinetry, recovering chairs— you name it, she does it.   And she does it well.   I love this "Fancy DIY Chalkboard".   So cool.   And she actually gives step-by-step instructions on how to do it.   I'm thinking about trying it.   You'll like this place.  Believe me.

Apartment Therapy
My guess is a lot of people moving with MoveBuilder are unpacking into a small space like an apartment or rent house— specifically if they're moving to large city.   If that's you, this blog is definitely what you need.   And for a girl who's all over stuff about moving, it appeals to me for sure.   Like this post on the "5 Things to Wait to Buy Until After You've Moved In" or this collection of "50 Phat Posts on Moving in, Out & Around Town".   But obviously, it's not all about moving.  They've written some excellent posts on furniture re-dos, decorating ideas for small spaces and fun DIY projects.   AND, a cool feature this blog offers that I haven't seen anywhere else is the Classifieds category.   It's only for New York, Boston, LA, San Francisco, Chicago and Washington DC, but you can find some good used stuff for your home.   Check it out.

All Things Thrifty
Hello All Things Thrifty.  Where have you been all my life?  Again, I know I've said this a lot in the last 1,000 words, but I.  Love.  This.  Blog.  It may be the best place for getting ideas for decorating on the cheap.   It's written by a DIYer named Brooke whose focus is inexpensive, but creative decorating.   We're definitely speaking the same language.   You won't believe some of the before-and-after photos she features— like this refinished piano, this garage sale hall tree transformation, and this awesome refinished chair.    So, I guess before I start making sugar scrubs this weekend, I'll be checking out some garage sales.   Yep.  This is going straight to my favorites.

No doubt some of you other DIY decorators out there have favorites not on our 10 best list.  What are they? We'd love to hear!
