Great question, but the answer is a little involved. Most companies make getting a moving estimate fairly simple, but there can be additional costs to consider when you're moving cross country that aren't included in your payment to the movers. And of course, it all starts with the type of moving service you choose— do-it-yourself, ’you pack, we drive', full-service, or some combination. Oftentimes the level of service you choose makes a difference in the price you pay. For example, you can usually expect to pay more for a full-service mover that does everything than a ’you pack, we drive' service that does only the driving— and rightfully so.
