How much does it cost to move?

It probably comes as no surprise that the question "how much does it cost to move?" is difficult to answer without knowing the specifics of your move.  But, give us the specifics and we can help you figure it out quickly— with a moving estimate

Before you start getting estimates, let me suggest getting a little information ready…it just seems to make the process of figuring out how much it costs to move a little quicker and easier.

Here's what you'll need to have ready when you call:

  • The city, state, zip code you're moving from.
  • The city, state, zip code you're moving to (if you don't know this yet, get as close as you can to get a more accurate estimate).
  • Your move date.  Keep in mind that some moving companies (including MoveBuilder) offer lower-priced, off-peak moving days.
  • Your estimated home size (square footage, number of furnished rooms, storage unit size, etc.).
  • A list of any large or "specialty" items (like pianos, grandfather clocks, pool tables, etc.)
  • A list of any special services you may need (storage, guaranteed transit, etc.)

If you know much about MoveBuilder, you know that the concept behind the service is to give the customer the option to "build" a move that fits their needs and budget. Essentially, that means the cost to move is based on the moving services you choose— and that can be anything from a "you pack, we drive" move to a full service move that includes packing, loading and unloading.
